Sharing with Mom’s on the web
My last post was dated December 24th and now I’m finally posting again, on December 29th. Yes, I actually walked away from my computer for about 4 days. The amazing this is I SURVIVED! Why did I do this you ask? Last Monday the 22nd I was working at the salon (doing one of my favorite clients daughter) and she shared with me how when the family was on vacation … there was no cell phones or computers! An that she actually enjoyed the disconnect from the world. I said I could probably not survive without my computer … I’m not just talking about Facebook or Twitter … both mine & my husband’s business is all internet based. With that explained, I decided to lay-off the Facebook status updates (other than wish everyone Merry Christmas!) for a couple of days. No big deal, didn’t really bother me. Now the next step was to step away from Twitter for a few days …. leave the Twitterverse behind, what would I do?? Not knowing what all my Tweeps are tweeting about??!! I somewhat did it … I did hit refresh once or twice, just to see what my Tweeps are up to … but I didn’t Tweet at all!!! That was the hard part! Did I survive? YES! Would I do it again … maybe, when I go on vacation! The only thing I noticed about not consistantly tweeting is, that the amount of new followers weren’t as steady …. upsetting? A little, but I’m okay with that. I got some AWESOME family time in! Now it’s back to the grind and it’s business as usual.
My tip ….. try to disconnect every once in awhile from the social media, it will still be there when you get back!
