When you have fabulous friends there’s never a dull moment!  A story about Fabulous Gwen …….

Our one friend, Fabulous Gwen, was moving.  Her husband got the dream job, so they were moving from east to coast to mid-west.  You’re probably asking yourself, “Why is Gwen fabulous?”  She was the crafty one & the one that always had the story that would make you laugh!  Crafty wasn’t the word … she could knit anything! You name it, she can make it or has already made … and everything she made looked absolutely FABULOUS!!!  If it wasn’t for Gwen, I would still be on my 1st scarf that was 2 years in the making!!  Since she has now moved, I wonder if I’ll progress past scarves??  (I’ve already made 6!)  Now onto how she made us laugh …. Gwen had the gift of telling a story!  Never made up stories, all true life stories!  Our Bible study would start at 7pm … 1st hour was the actually Bible study part & then the rest was laughing your pants off time!  (like until midnight!)  Gwen’s humor is going to be missed :(  She would have us laughing so hard, you would almost wet your pants!

Since Gwen was embarking on the dream job too, we had to send her off in Fabulous fashion … or so we planned.  The plan started out with making her meals, so she didn’t have to worry about extra food shopping right before moving … then a planned night to crash in on her for a final night of laughs!  The delivery of meals went as planned, but the night of laughs … well Gwen surprised us!  We asked the week before if she would be home on a Wednesday night, while her husband was working at the church.  She says yes I’ll be home, I don’t go anywhere. (they have one vehicle, so we thought this plan was fool proof!)  Gwen suspected something was up, but after Wednesday past she figured, maybe she was wrong.  The following Wednesday, we decide to crash in on Gwen!  The first to arrive is Eileen & myself.  We pull up to a dark house.  Then Eileen says, wait I saw a light on before … are you sure Eileen? … Yeah! Oh wait, I think it was the neighbors house I was looking at!  Both Eileen & I are not looking too Fabulous at this point.  So I call Gwen’s hubby … Hey it’s Jenn - Where’s your wife? … at her sister’s for dinner … Oh …. where are you? … standing in front of your dark house, because no one is home! (I think he started laughing at this point!) … she should be home between 7:30-8 … okay, I’ll call you back.    This is what we get for not telling Gwen of our surprise plan!  Eileen & I call Kelli & fill her in on the details … our plan is to meet at Dunkin’ Donuts and wait for Gwen to come home.  Now the 3 of us are sitting in Dunkin’ Donuts (like we have no life!) waiting for Gwen to come home!  After an hour of sitting in Dunkin’ Donuts Gwen’s hubby finally calls & says she’s on her way.  He tells her that he’s walking home from the church & to pick him up in Dunkin’s parking lot.  Now all 3 of jump up & run outside to hide between our cars to surprise Gwen.  Then we realize this may not be the smartest thing we do considering it’s now dark out & we’re in a parking lot.  (our plan was to jump out as she drives by & yell surprise … with our luck she would’ve drove off thinking we’re were crazies!)  Don’t worry, we didn’t do any of that!  She pulls in the parking lot & sees us standing there & just laughs.  Our great night of laughs ends up happening in Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot!  We give her, her gifts because we are going to truly miss her fabulous friendship!  We gave her enough yarn to last the entire drive to the mid-west!  The kids got some really neat car-kits for the ride.  Gwen & hubby got a bag full of their favorite chips, which can only be bought in Pennsylvania!  We do still have one gift left for her … which we weren’t done with by the time we met her!  That will be coming in the mail to her!  The positive thing here is … Facebook!!! We will stay forever friends though Facebook!  (except for Fabulous Denise who refuses to give into Facebook … peer pressure. give in!!!)

Gwen we can’t thank you enough for all the laughs & your Biblical knowledge!!
